Food Service Inspections

High Risk Establishments ~ Inspected two to three times a year

Medium Risk Establishments ~ Inspected once a year

Low Risk Establishment ~ Inspected once a year

As of January 1, 2019, the State of Illinois adopted the 2017 FDA Food Code. In accordance with the Code, inspections are now based on foodborne illness risk factors and public health interventions along with good retail practices. In accordance with Illinois Department of Public Health and FDA, establishments will no longer receive a numerical score as done so in the past. The current inspection report lists the number of foodborne illness risk factors present in each facility. Due to these changes, local health departments no longer have the ability to utilize any other type of scoring system.
