Temporary Food Service

A temporary food service event is an event such as a festival, fair, picnic, or other celebration where food is prepared, served, or sold to the general public and is advertised and recognized in the community.

Temporary events are exempt from the food handler training requirement; however, it is highly recommended that a minimum of one person per each temporary food unit obtain the training in order to educate the remainder of their volunteers. We do expect everyone to follow our temporary food guidelines and requirements in order to prevent and help keep foodborne illnesses and outbreaks at a minimum.
